Andrés Moncada

Meet Andrés

Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, I was introduced to faith at a young age by my grandmother, who faithfully took me to church. Later, the Lord also called my dad, and together we continued growing in our faith, coming to know Christ as the One who saves by grace, not by works. Although I grew up in the church, there was a season in my life when I wrestled with truly understanding my condition before God. I questioned whether I was really a sinner in need of Him. In His grace, God used different circumstances to confront my heart, reveal my sin, and show me my deep need for Christ.

I was actively involved in serving the church, supporting pastoral leadership, and serving in the worship ministry. I am married to my best friend, Jéssica, and together we have two sons, Juan Diego (JD) and Samuel, whom God uses to teach us about His love and patience toward us as His children.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and English teaching, I moved to Dallas, Texas, to continue working in education and complete my master’s degree. While searching for a church, I came across Watermark through its website. As I read through its doctrinal statement, vision and markers, I recognized a church deeply committed to Scripture and centered on Christ. We knew it was the place where we wanted our family to grow.

After serving for a season, the Lord called me to join the team full-time to continue serving the Spanish-speaking community. I am deeply passionate about walking alongside others as they grow in their relationship with Christ. I love reading, continuing to learn from Scripture, and seeing how God keeps transforming my life and the lives of others through His truth.
