In the past ten years, universities, organizations, and governments have recognized the need to develop more comprehensive resources for children and families involved in foster care and adoption. Here are some of the resources available to families in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

  • Buckner Children & Family Services (Dallas) – a child placing agency providing counseling, prevention, and family services as well as licensing for prospective foster and adoptive families
  • CK Family Services (Dallas/Plano/Arlington) - a child placing agency providing treatment foster care, behavioral health, and post-adoption support as well as licensing for prospective foster and adoptive families

Other Organizations

  • Embrace Texas (Collin County) – engages churches to develop ministries, supports foster & adoptive families, and recruits adoptive families for children waiting to be adopted
  • Hope Local (Tarrant County) – leads and organizes church ministry efforts in Tarrant County, partners with Our Community. Our Kids
  • Fostering Hope Austin (Travis & Williamson County) – trains, supports, and resources foster and adoptive families
  • South Texas Alliance for Orphans (Bexar and Surrounding Counties) – organizes efforts to equip and engage churches to recruit and support foster and adoptive families
